|June-Oct.||Raking. The most famous of the "classic" smelt fishing Maple areas, now almost closed to the public.|

|NOOKSACK RIVER||winter||Dipping along the river bank downstream from Ferndale. Smelt are "hooligans" or longfin smelt|
