Complicated Regulations

Had an older couple on a beach today harvesting oysters and clams. Great except clam season has been closed since the end of May. I stopped to let them know and the guy says his reg's book says its open til the end of June. He had his copy so I asked him to show me....sure enough he was right. I asked him to close his to the cover page then slid my also closed book next to his for comparison. Moment of silence as I handed my copy to his wife and asked her to make sure he didn't lose it. Nice people and I helped them with some good info on where to get clams at an easy legal spot close by....pretty sure she still has that copy of this years reg's in her purse.

Good day overall....excellent 5 mile hike across some new mud flats plus 2 river crossings without waders and the state just added about 10 million new oysters to it's resources in Hood Canal.
