Kelly Kettles from Lee Valley Tools I saw a few of them last yr on the Vedder at the boxing day derby. Very civilized, very gentlemanly. Then again, some of the locals up there think sophistication is a mostly clean hockey jersey at Christmas dinner, so those with the kettles get some interesting looks. The usual cold weather tactic is a small bonfire. On the subject of riverside sustenance, If I weren't such a lightweight, I'd prefer a touch of the bird (Famous Grouse) when the chill sets in. Unfortunately my tying is bad enough without inebriation, so a nip pretty much is the white flag for me. Is this what getting old is like? I ain't likin it so far. So much to learn, and you guys are all so danged far away. |
