If you are only going to have one rod, go with the 7/8. Go cast them. Get some help, and line up both the GLX and the Kispiox, and go throw them. Everyone has different preferences, because your casting style is different. You won't know what you need until you actually throw line with them. For silvers and steelies, you will want something heavier than a 6/7.
