end of springer season pics

Here's a few pics from springer season. we had a good season at barrier this yr. this is the first yr we fished it. Kalama was a bust so we hit it hard for 5 weekends. there were 2 days we left with seven fish between us. we never left empty handed once this yr and would have done better if the flows were better and our egg supply lasted longer. i happened to get both my adults b4 getting any jacks most days but my buddy Ron got all his jacks most times. Look out Steelies here we come.

Kong, the island was real spuratic this yr. we never got to fish it but we seen some awsome days over there and then the next day nothing. my report may be a little deceptive on the hotness of fishing i was just lucky to have a buddy who had the eggs from the gods. he supplied all my eggs as i lost mine from a faulty freezer. his eggs where the best in the hole by far. if the kalama is good next yr i wont be back to BD. the cracker,dickwad awards were handed out hourly. i did meet some really nice and quality fisherman tho.

i too had a pretty good year up at the barrier dam. mostly drift fishing eggs the same spot as those guys in the pics -- my last fish came on a silver spoon. one day i hooked 6 and only landed one, having 2 come unbuttoned prematurely, and 3 breaking me off at my feet in the shallows! toothy little buggers...
i fished the island once, but there were a pair of crackers who were honestly there every single day(at least when i fished). one of them couldn't handle a levelwind to save his life and would tangle with your gear on every single cast.
