John Day Report Feb 9

Took a couple hours this afternoon and fished from Dayville to Kimberly and up the North Fork. The good news is the North Fork isn't puking any ice. The bad news is the water is cold, clear and low- we need some rain! Hit 7 honey holes, and ended up going 1 for 2. Not bad for a 4 hour vacation. The river is low enough, it is hard to get a good drift, but if you decide to fish over here- keep your presentation small. Eggs and night crawlers will work, so will small drift patterns. Your best bet is probably below Service Creek, but it is only a matter of time before we see good numbers on the North Fork. There are a few fish around, but it seems like every year after a shot of rain or run-off we get some fresh fish. If anyone is interested in fishing over here shoot me a pm.

Re: John Day Report Feb 9

Thanks for all the feed-back I must say, I dont have a camera with me all the time, but made my wife go with me so she could record what ever I did . We dont have any hatchery fish here, so I try not to tell some one I caught something unless I have proof. She (my wife) even said, " I cant beleive you caught a [**whoops**] steelie". She has very little faith in her man LOL! This can be a pretty decent fishery, if you have got the fish & timeing dialed in,,,,. Standing invite for any of my SH.NET bros & siss to come & fish this river. I started out with a burning desire to fish for steel & thanks to all the great folks & all the gret mentoring I have gotten on STEELHEADER.NET,, I have become fairley competent. Open invite to any SH.Net folks to come & fish. P.S. You can help me feed cows to
