Made my first Tilla. Don't think I've ever eaten that much in both volume and variety of grilled and deep-fried critter meat. Jerry and crew, take a bow. Wow that was good. Nothing like hanging around the field kitchen and testing whatever comes up next. FEAST!!! Beef Elk Pork chops Tuna Sturgeon Springer funny-ass lil softshell crabs Brats (as in bratwurst, not young kids) rings shrimp/prawns etc in several versions Jim-cut fries "here, try this" "what is it?" "I dunno, but dang it's good"
I'm sure I missed listing something, but I know I didn't miss eating anything. Several go arounds too. URPPP!!
Lessee, what else... Maiden voyage in my db. Other than one minor gomer moment, I managed to keep from hitting anyone/anything and not look too much the cracker on the launch and take-out. (Lesson learned. If you see an obstacle you want to avoid, row first, THEN re-tie. Nothing like looking up from your knot and seeing a tree only a few dozen yards away. RUHH-ROHHH)
Got to fish with Tom n Nate.
Tom's kid - Frogsbane
Firefish (?) 's kid the blazing fast Ian. Man that kid can run.
Jerry's wheeling and dealing son. (great helper he is though)
Casey's now heavier than I am. When did that happen?
Met some great new members, TexMojo, RiverWolf, Fishizzle, uhhh, uhhh, not enough sleep to remember.
The bonus - I Finally got to see just how ugly some of our members are. Of course, they also got to see that the guy in my avatar pic is not as ugly as myself. And I don't wear no pink hat!
Thanks again all - Thanks for all the great cooking Jerry (and his minions of helpers) - No job left undone for lack of volunteers. Well, I'm guessing that most of the clean-up was done by Jerry...
OH, and who was it that was hurling this morning ~0400? Man that was nasty sounding.

thats what brewer recalls about my 1st and only cowtilla. theres some ugly mugs!!! goose for example. yikes. while marsh (auntym) was a royal hotty! that was back when casy was a scrawny kid. now it sounds like he has grown into a typical sh.net veteran. i'll stop here. this is were things got dicey for brewer. hence the lifer ban from all cowtillas.

Adding to the list of food eaten - Chicken - Deep fried Turkey. Oh man that was addictive. I think I ate 4 lbs alone of that. - Chips, chips, chips, pretzels -Girls scout cookies!!!!

Jerry's new CampChef cooking setup was the bomb!! Nice work in the Kitchen to The Cook Crew. Thanks for the doodads Jerry!! The campground was the perfect place to hold this event even though its away from the water. Kid friendly field and the shelter was perfect for the gathering area ... two thumbs up on using this facility again and again.
The drift boat ended up with BigKat? It was still sitting in the field when we left so I hope Tom didn't have to hitch it up
Lots of Door prizes given away. Thanks to the sponsors and members who provided the extras for the event. Berkley, Holdzit,Fish Tickler, Big Nate, FishGuideBrian, Dabrow/Laren, Chromeo, Jerry. Dad of the event goes to Junkie for passing on the chair, so the kid could have pink worms.. she loved them
Fishing was not red hot, but we got some action on Saturday morning along the wall.
Avery (puppy) misses you all and loved food scraps she sniffed up. No car sick for her on the way home.. bonus!!
Sekiu... here we come

Had a great time! I admit I helped out in the kitchen with steaks and such so I could sample the wares.
I regifted the DB to Fossil as the boat was locked up when it was time to hit the road and Tom was out fishing.
Great Tilla Good Times. My vote is to have the Tilla there from now on good facility.
Maybe we could lift the ban on Brewer?

I was a lot of fun as always!! I got to jump into a real boat with Bignate for both days, thanks again Mike. The food was great!! You should have seen all the seagull stacked up in front of the tables waiting for the food.
Fishing was slow, but Mike managed to put some in the boat everyday, he even put me into a 7lb Sockeye, red body, green head and all.
Thanks Aunty and Caveman for the bed!!!
Great to see everyone!

There is no ban on Brewer. He's pulling internet legs again. Everybody enjoys seeing The_Pants and the kids too. Back in the early days, not many wives and kids were attending Cowtilla's. That has all changed! Lots of ladies and kids in attendance. Good to see!
We had fun, which is why we usually go. Caveman seems to have made a new buddy in BigNate. I kept hearing about him all the way home? Caveman is not easily impressed. Who knew?
Sure hope we can get more "Drooler" participation next year. Especially that Dances character. I kinda miss him.

It was a good time as usual. It's a good thing we only have that tilla once a year, my liver still hurts. Tony hooked into a big springer yesterday afternoon, got it to the boat and it decided not to play, took off and came unbuttoned. Kudos to Jerry for all the chow

I think over all this is one of the better Tilla's yet. Not that the fishing was so hot, but more because of everything else that makes it a Tilla. Like Marty said, the location is perfect. We need to continue that tradition because it works for everyone, wives and kids included. I am forcing my wife to go next year for sure. At times you looked out in the field it was like doggie day care camp. As mentioned Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, proves once again, that you are the man on the grill. I don't think anyone works harder than that guy, we are lucky to have him in our group. Thanks to those that did help out in the kitchen as well to help keep the pack of wolves fed. Thanks (Mike) Big Nate, one of the 5 Mikes in the group, for the afternoon trip once again. It's always a good time on the water with you, and you got my buddy Jim his first Steelhead. With the exception of coming back to a Flooded Camper after being out all day fishing and breaking my 1141 Rainshadow, I had a great time and we got into a few fish. Nice to see everyone again.......

Lauren and I had a good time, I think I gained 10lbs becasue of Jerry, AWESOME FOOD. I'm glad the DB is going to someone that can use it. I thought Redhook was taking it? Someday I will actually get a fish I can keep. I least i out fished Lauren, I got a smolt, nothing for her. We left early Sun morn. She was all conjested and felt like crap.
See yall next year on tha Kalama.

now that was a good weekend.fishing could have been better, but Marty put me on one, thanx bud,you handled the big 'red light' beast like a veteran. I had one goal at this tilla and that was to NOT drag the 'chinook pack' back home with me,I narrowly escaped that.it traded hands 5 times this weekend,Redhook won and gave to winterchrome gave to Big cat,I forgot to unlock and he had to leave so I talked fishon into takeing it.when we had it loaded with my 10x20 canopy Fossil shows up and ask me where the keys to his DB are,so theres the new owner, see ya at the Kalama tilla? thanx to Big nate for the boat rides and hauling my 10x20 home. thanx to Jerry,Doug,Al and the rest of the cooks and assitances, that was some grubin!!!thats a nice camp kitchen ya got Jerry did I hear ya say bigger next year? was good to see all the old freinds and to meet new.missed a few regulars.I shouldnt have told Dans to hold onto his rod when they were launching, maybe he would have stoped by? the campground was the ticket, grass over rocks anyday. going to try and wake my dog up,she's worn out.

Firefish, that was a very poor DanS imitation. None of us found a flooded camper funny. Nobody laughed and we all felt bad for you. Next time, just throw a rod in the river with a fish on, OK?

M, that was no imitation, I always try to up the next guy. It's kinda like poker, A Full House (aka camper with 2 in. of water on the floor) beats a flush (as in throwing a rod in the river) Or is it the other way around. I'm mot a poker guy, but I think I win that one...

Firefish, I think if you wanted to up DanS, throwing a rod in with a fish on while it was held by Red Hook might have gotten a few more laughs?

Had a great time as usual! Party'd it up with the same usual suspects and met a few new faces. Jerry and Doug did one helluva job cooking all that food...thanks guys! Good spot to do it again next year! Pretty good size crowd this year but not as large as years past...maybe next year those that didn't make this can make the next.
Fishing was fair for us. Friday we went 3-4, Saturday 4-5 and sunday we went 2-2 in a few hours. While the fishing was slow we had alot of fun with the crew. My son boondogged up a few of our fish...maybe he'll get back into it. My soon to be daughter inlaw caught her 2rd and 3rd fish of her life...seeing that made the trip worth it. We pretty much drifted all morning then cleaned up in the afternoon with a few fish on divers.
Bummer about the flooded camper FF but I'm sure your gonna enjoy the new upgrade soon enough.
Here are pictures of a few of our fish.
