We're winding down our Cowlitz river steelhead trips for the summer, my final three summer trips for '08 are Monday-Wednesday (8/11-8/13).
Monday was a great morning, I fished with long time friends and clients Ted & Fran Filer from Zillah Wa.
I've been fishing the Filers for 17-18 seasons, and this was their day, Ted and Francis boated 10 of the 15 bites we had by 11:30 a.m...
   
Had a bearing go out in my jetdrive on Monday afternoon, so no fishing...as I had to run to Steven's Marine in Tigard Or. and have it repaired.
kudos to Steven's Marine as they had me good as new and on the road by 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday. 
On Wednesday I was joined by Rob Phillips of Yakima Bait Co./Worden's Lures and a couple other clients, and did ok, going 5-8...
Wednesday afternoon I was joined by our own Sargent Major and his family, we had a fun evening going 4-5...
Thursday, SHer.net member Diehard joined Rob and I, they had a good morning boating 6 of 7 hooked...
 
Thursday afternoon, I was joined by some ifishers, and a couple cute girls scored their first steelhead...
 
Yesterday, Ted and Francis Filer again joined me, along with nephew Lance Hoyt and his daughter Katie. They didn't have a morning like Monday, but did ok boating 6-8...
All in all a pretty good week, the catching has slowed some,
as the run is winding down. Also this last week, we
C & R'd our second ever stray Sockeye in the Cowlitz river.
Big thanks to everyone who made it out this week, sorry to the two trips that I had to cancel due to the jetdive problems on Monday afternoon.
Three days to go!

Looks like everyone had a GREAT time Bob! I wish I had been able to take you up on another trip as it looks like things sure picked up. Have a great rest of your summer Bob, you earned a few days off for sure!

Nice report. Of course, I wasn't there to kill your catching! Dang, what a year to not fish the Cowlitz.
Bottom picture is a Humpy for sure. I've caught thousands of them in Alaska.

I'll take you guys word for that, last Humpy I caught was in Homer Ak. in '82...I'm no pink or Sockeye expert.
So anyone ever hear if any Pinks in the Cow or Columbia?
That fish was caught last Tuesday evening @ Nolands Bluff, Timber was in the boat to see it.

That looks like a humpy for sure. I did catch a sockeye at the tilla, red body, green head.

Whatever Brewer. Since it's now 100,345 to 1 in my favor, I'll let you have that one. Oh and BTW, the 4 killer Gin-Tonics might have contributed a bit. Hendricks gin, and "custom made" tonic water. Add a bit of lime juice...perfection.
