Hanging around Luv2fish can lead one to develop cooking habits so I tried this a second time. I followed about 4 different recipes and came up with my own. Everything worked as expected but they look pretty evil to me. Spices are different meaning one is spicy and the other is more spicy so to speak..... I did two jars and after the initial cool down the lids sealed with a pop and now there is a noticeable difference in the pickling concoction level. I assume this is normal?
Anybody have a good simple pickling recipe for doing veggies?

I'm not going to waste these on Gators, That's what salmon fillets are for .
My first attempt didn't work so well since I just threw some carrots and a few eggs in the left over juice of some crunchy dill pickles. End result was carrots and eggs that where crunchy and tasted like dill pickles.
Here's the recipe I used....
16oz of cider vinegar 4 cups water 1 teaspoon of sea salt
I added this to pan and brought it to a boil. I used two left over pickle jars which worked out pretty good. I only bought 18 eggs but I dozen will fit into one of these pickle jars. While the vinegar was heating to each jar I added...
1 tablespoon of black pepper 2 heaping tablespoons of minced garlic (cloves would be better but minced was all I had) 1 teaspoon of allspice 1 heaping teaspoon of dill weed 1/2 sliced sweet onion (split between the jars)
In one jar I also added a heaping teaspoon of pure mustard (powder) and two mexican dried peppers (whole)
Next time I'll throw all the spices in the vinegar before heating.
Boiling the eggs I found out that if you have a floater before you boil them take a pin and hold the egg with the pointed end up and poke a small hole in the end. This will keep the air from expanding in the egg and it won't crack when boiled. Also add salt to the water. This makes them easier to peel.
Once the peeled eggs are in the jar I placed them in the sink and pour the boiling vinegar over the top filling them to the brim. I installed the lids tight and just let them sit there to cool. After about 20 minutes I heard the lids seal with a pop.
I imagine the longer they sit the better flavor the will have. Both jars have absorbed a good amount of the pickling juice all ready. Now's just a waiting game...

Ordinary men are not adequately equipped to judge said competition. One really needs a US Navy sub sailor to determine who wins. Only someone shut up in close quarters for long periods has the needed experience to assess potency and effectiveness.

We've got that covered AM....Uboat is a retired submariner, and farts like he's got a built in compressor. No concern that he'll blow up from the competition, but he may need some of those industrial grade Depends cause he'll surely $hit his pants.

My adversary seems to be getting nervous at this whole contest idea. When I walked into his house this morning I could feel the tension. It was like a thick fog of fear and I even had a hard time finding a chair at the kitchen table. When I saw his beady blood shot eye's I knew he's worried.
I have no problem with a taste test from independent judges. Two months soak time would make them even better. This would also give Luv2fish time come up with something better.
For me it's one jar and it'll be the winner. I'm talking something that will throw your taste buds into overdrive from sweet to hot back to sweet. A orgasmic experience so to speak.
From what I saw last night his current eggs would work great at killing grass in the front yard or removing rust from a tool left out in the rain and there would be no worries about a dog eating it.
