I don't know if they are still in business, but the Northlake Tavern on Lake Union in Seattle had the best pizza I ever ate. One piece could fill you up, but I usually had two or three.

In Port Angeles there is a pizza place called "Gordy's." I love that place! They also have calzone's and different italian food. If you post about food you get 4 replies in 15 minutes, but if you post about fishing you get 4 replies in a day. I can see where our priorities are .

You guys need to stop talking about food cuz I have been on a munchie binge all week! First it was Marty's popcorn and now I will have to get some pizza. I agree with Dogfish, the Northlake Tav had the best pizza around but then I have never tried the others that you have mentioned.
For pure fast food pizza (assembly line type) I'll always settle for Round table thin crust pepperoni and black olive. It has just the right amount of sauce.
Also, the Pizza bank in Kingsgate puts together a pretty good pizza.
Off to the fridge.... [ 01-10-2002: Message edited by: Maltby ]

I am going to college right now, but I went to work this morning since class starts at 1:30. When I got to work they didn't have anything for me to do so I've just been messing around. Mostly been on the internet looking for a baitcasting reel, but I was out driving my baja bug around. Normally I have a job, but not for today. And what about you Wayne .

Do you like lemon merengue pie? If so, you HAVE to try Swiss Miss lemon merengue pudding.

Wow a food explosion...lol
Had pizza last night...sorry it was dominos delivers. Good crust. They have a new thing called cheesy bread..its better than the pizza. Gordy's does make some excellent pizza. I liked the Armory pizza...until they moved into the old A&W.
I will be watching for that swiss miss pudding..
What about cheesecake?

Not sure if its still there, but out on the coast at Ocean Shores, there was a pizzaria called Duggens (doo-gins) They had awesome pizza! They even used to make a 6' pizza! Thats right a 6 foot pizza!
On the East coast, it has to be Ginos East... Hands down the best Sausage Pizza in the world, each pie has a 5 pound sausage patty on the top of it. One slice is a whole meal!

Wayne,
Maybe what we need to do is have the recipe forum title changed to recipe and food. Lots of good ideas.
Marty,
Can we do that? Then maybe that forum will get a little more interest. What will you call us adoption people? Are we Co-hosts? I would be happy to have a little help with it if Wayne anyone else wants.

Jeepmcmuddy I have eaten at Duggan's pizza before. It was a long time ago. I was probably about 9 or 10 so I don't remember how it tasted very well. I do remember we had to wait for a long time to get it. Then when we did get the pizza they made us the wrong one and we had to start over again and wait twice as long. It's probably better now though.
I think Wayne and Aunty will make a great team as you can contribute different types of food because of different backgrounds.

here you go Minestrone soup for starters.
Minestrone Soup 1lb+ linked Italian Sausage 2lb Ground Meat(your favorite, Burger, Sausage etc.) 4 cans beef broth 2 cans garbonzo beans 2 cans large kidney beans 1 can green beans 1 or 2 pkg. chopped frozen spinach 3 or 4 cans stewed Italian tomatoes 1 onion Garlic sea shell pasta 1 pkg.
Brown meat, onions and garlic then drain, add spinach and tomatoes and cook 10 minutes. using a large pot add rest of ingredients low to medium heat till pasta is done.
this makes a very large amount, enough to feed aporx 10+
I will get into my others and post them later. [ 01-11-2002: Message edited by: firedog ]

Ok here is one of the guys favorites form the station. Barbecue Meatballs Sauce 2-3 cups ketchup 2 cups brown sugar 3 T Liquid smoke 1/2 t garlic salt 1/2 cup chopped onion Combine in sauce pan and let simmer till needed
Meatballs 3 Lbs. ground beef 1 can evaporated milk 2 cups oatmeal 2 eggs 1/2 cup chopped onion 2 t. salt 1/2 t. garlic salt 1/2 t. pepper 2 T. chili powder
combine all ingredients and shape into balls. Place in large shallow pan, pour sauce over meatballs and bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
I also like to add crused red pepper to the sauce, I go by taste because I like things hot. Makes a bit of a sweat hot flavor. This will feed about 4 or 5, real easy to double it and make a lot, makes awesome meatball sandwiches the next day. Enjoy
