1997 F-250HD Powerstroke, 4X4, Regular cab, 5-spd, 4.10ls, shimmed regulator to 75psi, 10K resistor mod, and K&N air filter. Got more power than I know what to do with and I still get 19mpg. Now if I only had the cash for a downpipe, chip, and 4" stright piped exhaust. [Roll Eyes] Dang fishing habit.......... [Wink]

Love that turbo whine. [Big Grin]

1993 F250HD standard cab 4x4 7.3 Diesel no turbo, Jasper E4OD. Diamond plate tool box, ladder rack, custom grill, tinted windows, straight piped, 4 inch susp lift and 35" Schwab TXR's. Propane may be in the future. 13-16 mpg. Almost makes me want to get a toy or something for the long fishing drives.

I've got a little VW rabbit diesel. That car is really good for fuel mileage. I can get 46mpg on the highway. Usually I get right at 40mpg driving both city and highway.

'97 F-150 4X4, 5-spd., 4.6L reg. cab. A well-built truck that gets 15.5 MPG, but I do miss the little Blazer S-10 4-by at times.

I drive this 97' F-150 Lariat. Seems to do the job of boat pulling and exploring ok. Would like to get a brush guard if any of you know of a good place to pick one up at. By the way, how much do the run usually? "Kill Grill" my wife says.

Usually have the tail gate off. Helps for gas and visibility when backing down the ramp and parking.

sea nymth, do you have the famous door cracking problem with your f-150 ? i am looking for a truck (1/2 ton) and 98 percent of the f-150 doors are cracked, i think the fords are the best riding/ handling truck on the market but the door problem sucks.

hmmm... door cracking? No, I don't have that problem. Don't think I've seen any cracked??

Is it one of the main doors or the small back door(s)? Mine is the 97 model which only has one back door on the passanger side.

My truck has been very reliable. Had to replace the starter on it not too long ago. Has about 57K miles on it.

If you are looking to possibly buy new, Dodge has a very nice looking 1500 2002 model. Attractive warranty too. The 02 models are coming out with the crew cabs now. Next year (I believe) you can the the new model in the diesel.

95 F-250 Powerstroke.....all stock, 2wd, 5 speed....nuff said. Waterdog, you read the ford-diesel.com page. I hate that place, every time I read their forums I want to spend money!!!! Worse than the fishing forums. Mine has more power than what I need, don't know what I'd do with more!!! Here it is with my camper.

Jeff,
Good lookin' truck. My sister had an 87 250 with the diesel. It was goin on 250K miles and still runnin' great till it was crashed.

A camper is what my wife wants but my truck is a short-bed which wouldn't leave much room. It's just a 1/2 ton anyway.

Do you pull a boat too? If so, how heavy and how's the power w/ boat and camper?

I think my next truck will be a diesel. Wish I could afford Chevy's new Duramax (starting at 40K +)

I have a 18 ft Harbercraft sled that I pull. Feels like nothin's back there even with the camper on. Diesel is the only way to go, won't have another truck without it!!!

Jeffhead, I hate going to F-D.com too. [Wink] I try to stay away but it's tough. Hopefully a few "minor" upgrades will come. [Big Grin] I have no intentions of getting rid of her so it's money well spent. [Roll Eyes] I also will never own a gasser again.
