Tarpon
      #101926 - 02/23/04 03:27 PM

I will be going to the florida keys at the end of June and was thinking of doing a little Tarpon fishing. Has anyone out there been down there fishing for these critters? Or could they point me to a good guide. I would like to hear from someone who has been there and done it.

Thanks in advance

can't help you on that area, but maybe this will inspire you.

I am in Florida, so I will try and do some research for you, I am quite interested myself, and am a newbie, I will pass along anything I hear.

Hunt down a guy named Denali. He haunts these boards. He knows his stuff. Makes an annual trip down there and spanks the fishies.

Slim,
I've been going down there for the past 7 years, Islmorada and the past 4 out of Marathon. What would you like to know?

Oh man, tarpon are fun! Used to catch them in an estuary when I was in my early teens (originally from Ft Myers, FL), they would follow the mullet up river.... Different game down in the keys, but fun regardless!

Have a great time and don't forget some pics!
