So, I went up to 8-2 based on a 1-3 ft forecast. It was really rough though, so I turned around and headed back to the ramp at Everett. I checked the forecast when I got home. It was updated at 8:30 (I was already turned around by then) to a Small Craft Advisory. Yuck! 
On the plus side, my boat takes waves into the bow really well and the waves that splashed into the side were eliminated by the bilge pump quite well. It was a long few miles back from the racetrack though.
What I could have done differently was turnaround sooner!

Ya get caught on the wrong side and it ain't fun, been there done that!
