Silver Labs?
      #107080 - 04/01/04 11:59 PM

My parents recently saw photos of someone's litter of Lab pups, which included three "silver" ones. I'd never heard of silver Labs before. The people said they are rare. Are they a new thing?

I've seen several white labs before....my own dog is a white lab and Chesapeake cross. Silver lab is probably a fancy word for the white version.

My mom saw pictures and said they were grey like a Weimaraner. I guess in many breeds the color is called blue.
I have a lab x chesapeake too. They're great dogs.

EDIT: Do a google search for "silver Labradors." Lots of stuff on em.

Nope. I already have a dog. Plus the silver ones are pretty spendy.

They are cute. Looking at the pics though, they look like a cross between a Wein and a Lab. The color and the ears show that. I was raised with purebred labs, and certain features usually always prevail. Those ears in the pics are Weins ears if I've ever seen one. Especially the "daughter" in the picture.

Personally, I prefer the yellow or blacks. The very white "yellow labs" are adorable. But, have always had a thing for black labs (which I have even to this day).

Yeah, I warned her to keep him off her lap as a pup. But he was so cute, she couldn't resist. Now she's paying the price (with legs that fall asleep lol)

Lol Geoff, why did I not know you would take what I wrote that way. LOL. Gonna have to "W4F proof" my posts from now on.

Check this picture out! After seeing this post, I started doing a little looking. There seems to be some serious controversy over this 'color phase' of lab. Worth looking into tho'. They look like great dogs. [img]

My dog is 6 years old and slowling turning into a silver lab. So far it's mostly her muzzle that's turning silver.
