Just can't sit the Turkey opener out. Planning on taking my dad out for his first turkey hunt. He wants to try and get one with his new BL bow. I have warned him that the bow thing will not be easy, so this should be fun I will still have the 12G for back up

I was up around Wenatchee yesterday. Most of the forest service roads were still gated off for snow. Did hike up at one spot for about 2 miles, but didn't see a track. I'll bet Colville/Okanogon is a lot better place to try. Anybody else been out?

Hunted the Swakane area today. Saw three hens, but no Toms. Actually humped it up the side of the hill and then traversed it. Noticed some guys just scoping with Binocs. The kept a small caliber rifle with a scope at the ready. When I did see a bird, it was too far away for a 12 ga. and a scoped rifle made a lot of sense. It was cool to call them and they would talk back, but we weren't camo or nothing and they would spot us quick. It was fun though. There must have been 10 other rigs out there working them birds.
