We had a nice morning trolling as usual. We saw the usual suspects, other boats, and a few seals. Something that was unusual was lots of bait. Then, the temperature started heating up and at about the same time, the bite picked up for a brief period around high tide change. We picked up a couple of flounder that we released and then Jeff got this one. Jeff's a big guy, so I'm not sure the size of the fish shows up. Shortly after we started back trolling, I missed another fish on a pretty good takedown.
On the way back to the ramp, we turned around for a look at a lost whale. All in all a good day!
The fish checker said there were 4 fish for 9 boats when we got back in compared to 15 for 30 boats the day before. So, the fishing was a little better than it has been.
