Well the big pond has been calling to me lately, and finally today it sat down on a weekend.
Hit the launch around 6:30 and away we went to a pile of rocks up north.
Arrived at the rock piles and tried drifting herring, and shrimp flys through the area and picked up a couple of Black Rockfish, and a couple of Lings.
Thanks goes out to the guy in the Trophy for calling over the right jig color to us, once we changed to Black curly tail plastics it was one Rockfish after another. Limits were caught so it was time to try to pick up a couple of more Ling Cod to finish the day.
Sat on anchor for a half hour to an hour fishing herring suspended just of the dirt. Ended the day with a personal best for Lings. Made for a great day.
Slow ride back in as we were headed into the chop.
Just for reference, I go about 214. What do you think the Ling weighs in at?

You are good!

42" and 29lb 14 oz.

Think the kids will get tired of fish and chips?
