Looks like Washington State Parks is trying to acquire probably the busiest boat launch on Hood Canal.....it's a free launch now but that'll change if this goes through.

Great. I guess it is fine for a whole day of fishing, but I normally use it for the after work quick-hit silver, or SRC fishing. Truly a bummer. The state should make some money at it I imagine (based on the crowd during any Saturday starting on Memorial Day), and it might spread the love to the pay for launch marinas in the area. The nearest free launch is really hard on big boats and has almost no parking for more than 4 rigs. Kinda sad.
I wonder if the tribal netters who fish at Hoodsport will have a special deal, or will they pay the daily rate as well? The overhead could make it tough during the slow netting periods.

I assume of the State gets it, and charges to launch that there will be major upgrades to the launch ramps and of course there will be a large dock to make the launching cycle better.
