Just wanted to give a report on the runs here around Michigan for anyone that is interested.
The runs are still going in the au sable river on the eastside of the state since we have had a wet/cold spring the fish are running a little bit later than usal and theres still good fishing to be found. Should be tapering off over the next week or two.
The west side of the state is dying down in most places but the muskegon river is still fishing good for steelhead that are dropping back on there way to the lake. The manistee&Pere Marquette are both pretty well empty of steelhead with the exception of a fish here&there.

Thanks for the update, Michigan is where I primarily fish and now I am waiting for the summer runs.
I just heard that Ausable still has a lot of fish in it which cross checks to your information. Too long a drive from Chicago though for me, would hit the Muskegon if I needed another steel fix right now. Yep, PM has to be done now but I bet I could still find a few. LOL

won't be long and big skamania will be running up all our major rivers in lake Michigan, especially a few zipper lip tribs on the St. Joe

We get a few Skams here in MI pmFlyFisher but i have not heard of very many rivers that get a "good" run of them beside the joe.
Deffenitly wouldn't mind tying into one again though...i have only landed one skam myself and it is something i would like to do again.
