For the kid new
      #112088 - 05/17/04 07:47 AM

I would like to do a little snorkeling w/in a 30 minute drive of seattle to collect some "sea creatures" for my 3 yr old boy. I just want to pick up some thing to let him oohhh and aahhh over them and then put them back in the water. Can anyone tell me where I can do a little shallow water diving nearby and get things like starfish, small crab, clams, etc?

Edmonds has an underwater waterpark, but that might be a tad deep for free-diving

In my book the closest area that sounds like it should have plenty of sea life that you might have a chance to capture is Ed Munro Seahurst Park. Another option is to stop by a local dive shop and ask them of an area to snorkel at that you will see plenty of sea life close by.
