Micro Chipping new
      #115231 - 06/02/04 07:09 PM

Has anybody had ot done to their faithful companion? I just had our Brit done. It only cost $25 to have it done and then I call the Humane Society in the AM to have it registered. They said I need to call a National Registry too that will have her registered across the country. I kinda feel like it is a $25 insurance policy against theft. I would hate to have to pay another $400 for a new dog.

I had my lab chipped when I bought him a few years back. I look at paying the fee as you do, it's an insurance policy. Only pain is that when you move you must contact the registry to give them the new address.

Micro Chipping is a great idea. Just think how you would feel if your pup was lost or stolen

Yup, had our lab done. Same thing, was an investment (plus is a family member) we would love to have back if lost.

There is a new microchipping technology out... but not all centers have the scanners yet. So puppy may not be completely safe if they can't scan it.

A friend lost his dog in South Dakota on a hunting trip and was
just sick to leave with out him. About a week later he got a call and a Vet had his dog and it was in good shape.
Chip your dog and you might get them back.
