A little salty slaying. new
      #122491 - 07/12/04 09:51 PM

Took 3 friends over to Newport on Saturday for a long night of bottom fish killing. We started off targeting Ling Cod while it was still light. We ended up with a big goose egg on those. When the sun went down we switched over to ultra light tackle, 6lb line 1/8 oz jig heads and 2.5" smoke and brown curly tails and started whacking black rock fish like crazy.......

Anyways, we stopped at 2:30 am with close to 8 limits. since we fished 2 days...... we can do that. 4 gallons of fillets went home with us.

If you havent tried it, You need to fish at night for the rock fish. Its a blast! Those things bite non stop when its dark.
