Well the sockeye fishing has slowed down on the lower kenai. I picked up six on saturday morning, but only got one on sunday. With over a million sockeye past the counter the fishing at the russian should be insane, but so should the crowd. As for kings the fishing has been fair to good. For best results boondog the ditch or back troll the pastures on the tide. Hopefully you will pick up one a little larger then the one we did. Anyway here are the pics. I will post more Pics as soon as I can get them to load. Im having a little trouble right now

If I could find a job where I got paid the same as I do now I would be up there in a heartbeat. I would really like to make a trip up there in the next year or so.

I work at the shipyard in Bremerton. It's a pretty decent job with good benefits but it sure isn't guiding.

MHB I live in anchorage, Im a part time guide, full time fisherman. I love to fish, more than guide. My family owns a guide business and I help out alot. I just joined the Alaska fly fishers last month Im hoping to get pretty involved over the winter with them. Welcome aboard, it good to have another alaska face around here.
MF, I have been here since I was 5 years old, I was actually born in Spokane.

If you suck at fishing, can you be a guide anyways? HAHAHHAA Anyways, I will get some of my pics on here. I had a great time fishing this year. Cought a few nice ones. Just found out about the site a few days ago. Definitely nice to see some fellow alaskan's on here. They are few and far between.

No luck my friend, the fishing is good. I would park up off the road in the pass. We fished the brige but could only go so far because of deep water. If you park on the pull out you could cover alot of ground. I caught 3 nice 14-16 inch dollies, but no bows. Try using beads and glow bugs. Sperm flys worked well also. There are alot of sockeye in there, so be prepared to snag a few, it hard not too. If you need more in fo give me a shout. good luck

Ya, I cant wait to get down there. I will follow your advice and post pics on my catches. Quartz is always a great place for nice fish. And those dollies and Rainbows fight like crazy. Its a blast. Thanks again my friend! Good luck the rest of the season!
