Ok, you have been seeing many Steelhead and Salmon around here so I thought I'd show you what was biting on my Herring the other day on Cook Inlet.
3 Halibut just below the 50 pound range and the biggie very close to 70. My biggest ever and they will eat well for myself and the bride all winter.
Just had a great time on the Kenai Peninsula last week. Caught many Kings on the Kasilof and a couple on the Kenai but these Butts are my favorite.
Starting to save my pennies so I can do it all over again next year. Who wants to come with me? Ibutt4u

Ahhhhhh, A Butttilla in the works. That would be a fun one.
I betcha I could do that for next year.
If we can get any interest in a trip I would be more than glad to put it all together. And, with a group, I bet I can get a great price. Count me in!!!!!!!!
I'll post more later.

I wondered why you didn't call. I was up for the Kasilof trip.
And remember that I invited you on this Butt trip and you had to work. You missed a good one.

Don't rub it in, I really wanted to go. I really wanted to fish with you, last year was a kick in the pants.. the king fishing was almost as good as the red fishing was that day.

fgb,
I'm sure she has although when we were there last week we got them to 21 pounds is all, but we were happy with them.
Ya, she does do well and I always have a good time when I fish with her. Hard to believe you can see a woman rowing 4 big fat guys like me around.
And, if WRO can get a big one anyone can. lol

Its been weird to say the least, last year I landed one native toad, and the biggest clipped fish was around 25 or so.. On tuesday i put a clipped fish on the scales at 42, and thursday night I landed one that was easily over 50. It was a Slab, I couldn't come anywhere near to getting my hand around the base of its tail.

Hey wro go any pics of that 42lb hatch fish? I would love to see it. Also ifish4u nice butt. You picked a great time to come down the water just went down the tubes on the rivers. Looks like you could walk across mud. Fishing was terrible except in the salt this week. great fish.

fishguidebrian,
Heck yes I'll let her row me around.
Sure wish I was in her boat this day on last years trip when she boated this 86 pound Halibut from her drift boat. We were right along side of her when she put the woop-ass on us. Awoopass4u

Not a good picture, but it was the best i could do, the legnth was a little over 45 inches. The rod underneath it is a 10.5 ft allstar.

WRO gets the biggies and I only get the little ones.
My friend Doug and I landed 10 our first day. 13 the next day and 13 the day after that. All were caught backbouncing eggs. We only killed 3 between us for the 3 days. All in the last 1/2 hour each day so we could fish the whole shift.
Picture enclosed is ol' Ifish4u letting a hatchery King go on it's merry way looking for chicks. I'll post a Kenai King picture later.
