Mudslinger

No ones shown up yet from Superior country. To bad I neeed to learn more about it. My fly shop owner went up to the Brule last October and gave me in the inside skinny on how to fish it. Its different then our other fall rivers due to you know what ?

Did you ever tie into one of those Coaster Brook trout of superior?

Yeah I got to get up there, had a friend that just took a two week fishing trip with his motor home through UP of Michigan superior area, awesome country and some nice rivers in solitude. Have to start planning for next year.

Lake Superior Steelhead Association

Give these fellows a try. I have never fished Minnesota steelhead but have been hearing the runs are down. M. Supinskis book Steelhead Dreams has a big section on Minnesota rivers, plus the Linsenman book on GLs steelhead has some information on those rivers.

I Appriciate the inf. The pic was Tippy Dam Manistee Natl. Forest. I Just want to go somewhere closer. We were a little early for Steelhead 2 week in Oct. Lot's of Salmon snaggers up there didn't like that too much, But it was great to see big fish right at your feet. I'll Keep learning Thanks Again. Lyle

Tippy Dam was one of the first michigan steelhead rivers I fished in 1980. Yes I know all about Tippy during salmon season. Have not been there at that time since the early 80s. Heres a picture downstream from Tippy thats where you want to fish. November is fairly predicatble for steelhead in all Michigan LP rivers every year. Minnesota runs about a month later than Michigan LP rivers. Depends on the weather though too.

You should think about Northern Wisconsin rivers, like the Bois Brule. Check it out

when are you heading up this way?most of the north shore rivers get some steel your best bet is the knife up by two harbors in late april but that always depends on the snow melt.if you want to get some loopers try off the river mouths with floating spawn bags on the bottom or looper bugs under a float tipped with waxies.let me know when you head up and maybe we could get together and go pound a few,i know the north shore very well and could show you some good areas, let me know
BTW:welcome to the board there are a lot of good people here.
