I hope we get some more rain soon. The creeks are looking pretty sad in the MAT SU and I am hoping to do some really nice rainbow fishing before the bad weather comes. Anybody know what months are the best for the rainbows up in the MAT SU? Namely Willow and Sheep Creek?

Late september thru late october are the best times to fish rainbows. They will start to bulk up for the long winter months very shortly. The main problem this year is the weather. If it was colder like it should be this time of year they would be feeding heavly. Now the depper faster glacial fed rivers, like kasilof and the kenai, the bows have started feeding heavly. I would say the fishing in the mat-su is good in the real early mornings and late evenings. Search for deep pools and cut banks. dark color leeches, buggers and flesh flys will work better then flashy spinners and spoons.

Right on. Well listen, Since I have to work during the week (I work for the City of Anchorage) my best times for fishing would be on the weekends or in the evenings. I will check my PM's and lets figure out a time to do some serious fishin! Thanks bro. I appreciate it!

No, I dont have a float tube but I can get one. Thats not a problem at all. They are not that expensive. None of my friends really fish much so I ususally go by myself or with the fiance. So that means from the bank or using waders.

Hey, that would be a great idea too. The more people we got the more fish we see. (theory anyways) And dont be surprised if the ladies outfish us. For some reason my fiance always has better luck then me. I never understand that.

I will check on the tubes. I have always wanted to get one of those, Just never did it because of my fiance. She doesnt like going out on those things. So that leaves me going by myself
