It looks as if most of the rivers have come up a bit with this rain we have been getting. Its time to head for the coast and target Sea Run Cutts!!! Please if you do, use artificials and release them.
How to catch cutss. Spinners work great! Black or brown Rooster tails, Panther Martins, Small Blue Fox. and a Varity of small spoonswill get you into plenty of fat fiesty trout. For you fly guys, go with some sort of streamer!
Fish the same water you would for steelhead. Also slowly reel you spinner through deeper slow pools. Just got and have a great time.
Im going out somewhere this weekend to take advantge of this rare high water in August!.

Fishing up stream from Tou Velle Park this morning and had it running down the back of my neck for two solid hours. A drenching drizzle along with 55 degree air temps. Darned chilly without a coat on!!!!!
Good thing is though the cool/cold weather the past few days has knocked down the upper river temp. by almost 6 degrees!! That ought to help to pull the buggers up from the middle river sections 'pdq.'
Interesting morning. Met a fellow from our local fly fishing board (he's VERY good with a one handed rod) and we spent several hours fishing (and giving him spey casting lessons). Net for the day for him was 3 steelhead beached, two or three kings and he lost a couple more.
Me? Hooked -lost one and missed 5 more fish. Reason? How about a bent hook point. Dah Fred ... so I desided to check after missing all the fish ... clean up the hook then not another strike.
Poop.

You just have to love those summer rain storms! When I lived in central OR I would drop everything and go fishing when we got some good T_storms. The trout would go nuts!!
Well I got the info too late last night to get my stuff together and hit it this morning. The Siletz was on fire yesterday for fresh fall chinook. Im not talking tidewater either! A couple friends limited in the river from thier drift boat! Another boat nailed 5. These were all fresh chrome bright fall nooks!...... I knew I should have just went over and fished
