Does anyone know how the Kings might react in their movement on the Great Lakes, with the recent rains we've had (and will be getting)?
The Root River is typically very good in the Fall.
Will the higher levels push the fish to go further upstream?

Definitley will move them closer to shore and some more into the rivers. There is a very good site for wisconsin river levels and rain, weather etc. I will post it for you I know the fellow that runs it via internet chat anyway.
Gumbo
Watch those water temps off racine, if they get into the 50-60s with a wind shift, the game is on. Hit the piers with spoons and night is good for the kings with glow lures.
Any river is worth a try now at its mouth in to the lake and lower stretches. The Root is so short that they can come in very quickly.

hey alright another member welcome  i am not familiar with the root but on other rivers i have fished on if there was enough water the kings would keep pushing upriver as far as they could go,so i would say it is probably the same with the root.make sure you tell all your friends about this site we need more members from the midwest.

Check out the other sites listed on Gumbos site as they will have some local river information soon also the mid west steelhead site if you can take the flaming. Well its better now, a few years ago it was wild.

Yup rains are a key factor in triggering salmon to run the rivers in the GL area.
I was on the Pere Marquette and Big manistee rivers here in Michigan for the past 4 days and we got some very heavy rains that raised the water levels and put some color into the flow. Needless to say the first day after the first big storm (friday) there was a big wave of salmon that entered both these rivers. Should be building more with each passing day.

Yes I saw that on the radar. For the most part they avoided us here in Chicago. Good times are upon us.
