Yesterday I took the scenic route home from the S. coast and checked out 5 different fisheries. But earlier in the day I fished the Coquille tidewater. We didnt get anything due to lots of muddy water but, we did see plenty of fish rolling around.
My first stop to check out the fishing on the way home was Isthmus slough on Coos Bay. There were lots of snaggers at the tide gate. Dropped down the slough a ways and came across some guys tossing spinners. They had a couple fish on the bank. One guy missed 3 good strikes while I was watching. Next stop, Winchester Bay! There are 2 places to fish it from the bank. The first is in the boat basin. That place was dead. the second place is on out awys past Windy Cove park. The spinner tossers there were hitting a few wild silvers. I joined the fray and ended up hooking and crackering off 1. The spinner of choice there is a large pink Rooster Tail or a pink pearl Bang Tail. I did see one fish taken on an anchovie under a float. The next place I checked out will remain un-named (Not much pressure and cant handle much more plus I will die if I mention it)But, I tossed a big #6 Pink bodied Blue Fox and caught 5 wild Silvers. All I will say about this spot is, I was basically fishing in the ocean. The next river was the Alsea. The river was up and murky from all the rain on Saturday. I fished 1 spot for awhile with a friend I happen to run into. We didnt hook anything but he saw one caught earlier up the river. i saw a jack on the bank and watched another guy get his butt kicked by 2 adult Chinook.
Thats my report. I wont get out again until this next weekend due to the fact I found a job and I now have to play weekend warrior.

I fished from agness to Quosatana over the weekend, and there were alot of silvers rolling, but they were lock jawed.
There were a few chinook caught by side drifters. There wasnt enough rain to bring in the salmon from the bay like 3 or 4 weeks ago.
I moved to Port orford in June, and I'm paying my dues, learning that awesome river. I will be spending alot of time there.

Thanks for the heads up Willie.
But why did you have to ruin a good thing by going and getting another job?!?
