The Vedder 10/12
      #140490 - 10/13/04 03:15 PM

Went up and fished the Vedder on Tuesday. I still can't believe the pressure that river gets during the week!

We got up there and scouted around and found lots of fish holding in the dark but after we went to Freds and got our tags the sun had come up and the fish got smart and thined out.

We moved around trying to find a place were there wasn't huge crowds and landed way up river. We managed to hook and release a bunch of springs and a handful of chum but couldn't seem to find where the coho were hanging out. The fish seemed to be on the move! We saw fish moving all day long.

I can't wait to get up there and do it again!

Thats a common thing on the Vedder this year. Lots of movers but not to many biters. As you saw, springs are a dime a dozen but the cohos are being pretty elusive this year.

I'm hoping to get up there this weekend and brave the crowds. Looks like I may have a hall pass on Sunday. I'll give a report if I make it. Anyone else heading up this weekend?

SkyGuy, I was up there on Tuesday too. Didn't make it up there till 1:00.
I figured that they just had a holiday weekend, pressure wopuld be light. Boy was I surprised.
Lots of kings, and lock-jawed silvers in the system.
If you ever want to hook-up, let me know!!! I live like 45 minutes from the Chedder
