Thats a good article about the problem BG. I was on the Au Sable for 9 days at the end of last month and i tell ya i have never seen it so bad fishing ion that river this time of year.
Hardly ANY fish were in and the ones that were in were about the size of the Coho you'd catch in the PM.
Lets hope there is a solution to the problem but from the looks of it it might be one that takes a long time to rebound from.

Runs are down in Lake Michigan tribs too, all the old timers I meet are reminsicing about the good old times in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Limiting out in a couple of hours etc.. Those days are over for a while anyway. But there still are enough fish to describe the fishing as good. I met a retired fellow on the river yesterday who lived in Washington up into 5 years ago, now lives in Michigan by his kids. Thinks the fishing is still better here then there.

I had a pretty good year on the Lake Mi side this year, numbers werent as high as the years i had around 96/97 but i think i did a bit better than last year when all was said and done.
The Lake huron problem really has me worried though. Having a cabin on the au sable i really hate the thought of maybe not being able to fish the salmon runs for awhile over there.
I'm also wondering how and IF the steelhead runs from lake Huron are going to be affected by this....any thoughts on that BG?
