Gls style, filled with sunken timber, old Michigan logging river, you can see some of it that clear water. Very tough wading here better know what you are doing. Some great spey water in this river. Lots of wild steelhead also, along with browns, and salmon.

I took a nice peaceful nap at that spot for an hour, just kicked back and laid back in the grass listened to the wind, river, and national forest silence. No one else around. Then clicked a few pictures.
PRICELESS !

Well there is something to be said for a little nap on a sunny bank of a nice steelie river. In my opinion there is a "lot more" to steelheading then catching fish.

You hit it right on the head Mike, the catching of the fish is a small part of the experience, some people fish all there life and do not realize this. Who said that, I believe it was Issac Walton 100s of years ago and its true !
And that was mighty find 30-45 minute nap I had that day listening to the wind and birds in the national forest.
Can you determine what leader material I was using that day and most days ?

Yes Maxima green leader material, never leave home without it and yes there are a few of the Rogue River buggers in there along with my hot hex patterns.

Mike, had to laugh when I read the above. Many good memories of fishing the Toutle River (pre- KABOOM!) were we hit the river at day light, rolled out a mat at noon and slept til 4, fished til dark, drank til (well never mind) ... back up at dawn, etc.
Maybe that's why I look everyday of 62?
Mike, forgot to add: the new rod holder(s) are working fine .. even at 70mph. Enough 'angle' on them and the rods 'run straight and true' with narry a wiggle.
