Hello Belgrade. Glad your here. We have members from the Great Lakes areas and the Columbia River who all fish Walleyes. We have the bigger ones here on the Columbia, North West US. What type of technique do you use? Bank or boat?

wobbler - "little fish made from wood - immitates living fish by wobbling"
fly - i'm "fly tyer " (is it correct?)
well - here is a picture - flys are mostly made of white&silver polar fox..

I wonder if the Walleye you fish for in Europe are the same species we have here in the US? They stay deep here and would be hard to catch on a fly. The Wobbler would probably work for them if it gets down deep.

Excellent. The minnow shape bait is a Walleye standard here. Rapala's being the biggest name of course. Lead head jigs and "spinner rigs" are two of the other standards. A spinner rig, if you haven't heard of them, is a leader with a spinner blade on a clevis, 5 or 6 beads (usually red or chartruse)a snelled bait holder syle hook and a large nightcrawler (big live worm) nose hooked. This is slowly trolled near the bottom.
Flies for Walleye's are something I've never heard of. Makes sense, especially in moving waters. I wonder if anyone here is trying that?
Thanks for the information.

Is a Raubfisch the same thing as a Hecht? If so, that would be a Northern Pike here in the U.S. I did a Google search on Raubfisch, found lots of sites (all in German) with pictures of guys holding Pike. Looks like the Germans have as many or more fishing chat boards as we do over here!

no no, it's not a pike. - this fish has no teeth - it's from "carp family" - the only predator. serbo-croatian name for that is "bucov". latinian word is "aspius aspius" family "ciprinidae"

for trouthead: - i hope i'll catch some walleye on fly this winter. today sava is 8.4 ceslius hot (cold) - that is a good temperature, i'll just have to vait water to "clear", and.... (i'll tel you - if i have result).
i belive that good fly for walley (here) would be muddler minnow. - i tied a few similar flys

Drbouz nice flys those gray and brown ones look like good hexigenia limbata may fly nymph imitations which is a very good pattern fished here in the US GLs for all species including walleyes.

Good job. Were using a sinking line or any weight on the fly?

Awesome, I know one other fly fisherman that has caught a walleye on a fly and he is a good fisherman. He crawled a craw fish fly down a steep lake bank looking for smallmouth bass and hit a nice 8 lb walleye.

It can be done
