Well,
Next week I'll be hitting Southern Illinois for a week, and was curious if there was anything worth fishing. I'll be around the Kaskaskia river and several lakes. Or is winter a no go?

No steelhead or trout down there. Bass and musky down there though , its been warm for december to date this year, thats way down south, check this out.

I was figuring on some bass or other non-salmonids. I found that map today as well, and I'll be staying in Marissa with inlaws, and even if there is no hope for me, I'll still grab gear and beat the water. It will pacify me knowing I'm missing 7 days of winter steelhead fishing.
