Anyone have the new .17 HMR. I’m looking at the Savage Stainless. Would like some input from someone who knows. I know for the price ($179) I can’t go wrong, but would be nice to do it right the first time.

You can't go wrong with any of the 17's Everyone I've shot has been a tack driver. I like the Savages too. Real good shooters for not a lot of money.

I shot the ruger mark 2 .17 and it drove tacks out to 200 yards, at 300 yards the groups opened up a bit, but I was only using a 9 power scope. All in all I wouldnt leave out the ruger.

I'm getting a Volquartzen barrel for my Remington 597 Magnum. In .22 Mag it is a great gun, and with a good aftermarket barrel I'll have two guns.
