Savage .270 with a Simmons 3x9 scope. Nothing fancy but it has killed alot of deer. It has killed white-tail, black-tail and mulies. It has also killed elk and bear. It shoots flat and fast and with the correct bullet and powder for each species it is very deadly.

I switched two years ago from a Ruger M77 in .270 with a Simmons to a Savage 111 in .270 with a Leupold. Why did I stay with the .270? Because that's what the shop had in that model when I was there. If I can find one cheap I would like to get a .44mag in a rifle for a woods gun.

I've been hunting the prairies of eastern Montana the last few years and use my Browning A bolt .300 win mag 3x9 Burris. The last buck I took was at 370 yards, it the 4x5 in my avitar.

Ive got a browning A bolt 300WSM, I think I might get the same but a 270WSM. Shot my bear this year with the 300 and it never took another step. Im pretty happy with the shorty.

Outlaw how is the kick on the 300WSM. I was thinking of getting one. I shoot a 30-06 now grandfathers old gun(one G-pa had the barrel and the other G-pa had the stock and scope and they refinished it and gave it to me as a present)and I don't want to ruin it. Ya know. I want to get another rifle to use for everyday use and that way if it gets droped or something I don't loose my airloom. enough rambling how bads that sucker KICK. Thanks

I mainlyhunt caribou. Last fall I saw a about 15,000 to 20,000 caribou in 10 days. The rifle I use is amazing for caribou becuase if you see "El Jumbo" you can shoot "El Jumbo". I can take a shot with the .308 confidently at 600 yrd (I can shoot farther but I would have kill issues), and 1000 + yards with the 300 win mag. Anyone on here use a milldot scope. Since I took a LRT course it as has changed how I hunt. Truly amazing how easy it is.

I shoot a .300 win mag A-bolt and love it. I have the BOSS on the end and the kick is less than a .270 but it is loud. I use ear plugs in the field. Less than 1" groups at 100yrds.
