steelheader range day new
      #154643 - 12/12/04 06:56 PM

would anybody like to have a steelheader get together at a local range? a few of us have weapons and i thought we might get together for a range day. the evergreen sportsmans club is just south of olympia and has pistol and rifle ranges together. the fee for nonmembers is $8. the hours on sat. and sun. are 1200 to 1600. if we have ten or more they will open the range just for us at 0900. they also have ammo. if interested please respond here. the date is flexible whatever works best for the majority. jim

A Saturday in February would work great for me, I'll check to see which ones I don't have trips or sportsman shows and report back.

I'll bring 5-6 weapons to share!

Wayne, sweeeet weapon! Lets work around your work schedule to set up this range day.
Late January or February would work better for me, but not Saturday January 22nd or Saturday February 5th as I have sportsman shows those dates.

What kind of notice do you have on if you'll be in town or not?

You were asking about any deals on 5.56mm ammo? Our local gun store there in Selah(Jake's Place) has Federal XM193 for $3.99 per box of 20 rds. or 500 rd case for $99.00....these are 55 gr. FMJ. Also has M855 green tip, 62 gr. for $199.00 for case of 1000, these are pretty hot and worth a try.
Both are new Ferderal issue, very clean to shoot and not milsurp.

M193 is great shooting stuff, I've shot 1,500-2,000 rds through my 3 Ar's the last few month without 1 FTF.

sorry took awhile to respond Bob, been busy getting back in town and with the holidays.
the 12th would probably work for me, but I usually only have a couple of weeks notice before trips firm up so hopefully i can make it!
I'll get in touch with you about the ammo as it gets closer and can pick it up at the range day if that works out.

Steelheader.net ranger day is Feb 12th new [Re: workin4fishin]
      #161406 - 01/09/05 09:42 AM

We need to know who will be there for the Steelheader.net day @ the range?
If we have 10-12 people(or more) signed up, they (Evergreen Gun Club, South of Olympia) will open the range to just us for 3 hours. This will be a rifle/pistol shoot. You can bring yours, or shoot some of ours.
I'll be bringing some AR's, AK, Hk, maybe a FAL and several auto pistols to share, just help chip in for ammo.

Wayne, or anyone looking for 5.56mm Nato, we have some local deals on the stuff if you want it before the shoot.... 500 rds of Federal XM193 for $95.00.....this is great shooting new stuff not milsurp.

This will be a safe and organized shoot, with Evergreen gun club range officers and covered firing stations for pistol and rifle, from 50' out to 100/200 yards.

So if you want to shoot your weapon or get the chance to fire an AR...AK...SKS...HK...FAL...Glock...Beretta...etc. and are a member of Steelheader.net this could be for you.
The range cost is $8.00 per person and help with the cost of ammo if your shooting other peoples weapons.

So let's plan on shooting 9:00a.m.-noon and then head off for lunch somewhere near by. Any ideas on a lunch spot?

So who's in for saturday Feb 12th and are you bringing something to shoot, if so what?

so far looks like...

RapidRobert
Chinook
Drifterat
Musicman
Tridub1
longJohn

I'll probably only bring the 357 and the 22 to make a little noise. Don't think I want to abuse my shoulder with my Dad's 300 WM. If I had my reloading bench set up I'd probably bring the 6mm to zero it in for 'yotes, but don't have enough ammo loaded up.

Possible change in SH.net Range Day new [Re: Tridub1]
      #164382 - 01/20/05 10:34 PM

Chinook tells me of a slight snag. Seem someone else beat us to the early sign up for Saturday Morning Feb 12th.

So we can still have it @ noon on the 12th, but the range will also be open to the public, or move it to Sunday morning Feb 13th and we'll have the rifle/pistol ranges open to just Steelheader.net shooters...

I'm for moving it to Sunday morning @ 9:00 a.m. Feb 13th, but can do what ever the group votes.

We need @ least 12 paying shooters, and I'm sure we have @ least that.

I'll be home form Tricities Sportsman show Sunday night and check back then.
