Hey I'm not questioning anyone's ability. Heck you all know I couldn't catch a fish in a bathtub with a net, but in <ahem> a number of yrs living 15 minutes from the Vedder, I've never heard of anyone ever having 3 consecutive days with solid consistent hookups in late March/Early April. Especially last yr. I'll concede it's possible, just improbable. So what? We all BS, and we all get called out for BS when it's actually true, but may be hard to believe. As if it hasn't happened to all of us at some point. I always thought it took fairly thick skin to fish winters in the PNW.

He was probably up river working boots on their redds and hooking the same fish repeatedly. No way could you get into 72 different fish on the Vedder without working fish over their redds. Especially on the fly rod.

Thats why you always post pictures of your catch. Otherwise your fish story turns into a fishy story....Pictures back you up.
The guy has over 300 posts to his credit so unless he has been fishy in the past with his stories I think I would believe him.

I have no idea what Plugs did or didn't do, but sure wouldn't call him a liar.
I have fished steelhead over their entire west coast range for a good many years and have seen some thing that are dang nigh unbeleivabel. Like . . .
Nick Amato and I once hooked 22 steelhead in about three hours on a now closed pool on the Gold.
We did the same one day on the Salmon. The one on the Res.
My friend Clint landed 20 plus steehead fish on an amazing day on a Vancouver Island river.
And the most amazing thing I ever saw was Clint hooking three fish in three casts, in a pool that an old man had been fishing, with no luck, for many hours.
Strang things do happen. But I will say that this year Clint, who is an absolute top rod, is averaging about two fish a day on the Vedder.
