Hey Goose:

I'm not usually fishing for salmon in the canal this time of year. Any recommendations on locations/methods? I've been talking about it for years. With crabbing closed and the good weather, I think going after the salmon in the canal is just what I need. Any suggestions would be great!

From Seal Rock northward along the shore along the 90 contour is good. Same thing from Wawa Point northward at the same depth.

That's about the same as I'm hearing Tooner. There's some nice fish out there but also a ton of shakers. Started seeing herring showup in the middle of Quilcene Bay today....looking good!

Tooner should have kept that fish in this pic for the derby. It would have made the board .But we had fun and we both hooked into a fish on sat both fish were 8 1/2 pounds. This is about the 2 or 3 year that the geoduck derby has out fished the disco derby .
