Posted on another board:
There will be a get together for custom rod builders from the Northwest, or anyone else that would like to attend, on April 8th, 9th and 10th. There will not be any charge and it is not sponsored by anyone. We will be holding the seminar at Lamiglas in Woodland, WA.
There will be demonstrations and presentations on a variety of subjects that are of interest to custom rod builders. There will also be a tour of the new Lamiglas plant plus for the first dozen or so that sign up and can come on Thursday the 7th in the morning there will be an opportunity to build your own blank on the Lamiglas machinery and tooling and with some expert assistance from the Lamiglas personnel. There will be no charge for this either.
Friday evening there will be a no host get together for possibly a couple of presentations and no doubt a lot of conversation. We might be able to move this to a local restaurant and bar if people are interested. The schedule of presentations and demonstrations is still being worked on and more details will follow. Everyone is welcome. If you would like to attend send if you would like to attend send me (todd@lamiglas.com)an email and I will get you a registration form and any other information you might need.

Here's a copy of the post Emory Harry put on the Rodbuilding.org:
The get together of the Northwest rod builders at Lamiglas in Woodland in April is coming together really well. It appears that we will have about 100 attendees. The schedule for the demonstrations and presentations is also coming together really well. Here is the list as it stands so far.
1. Rod/Blank Repair.............................................Bob Balcombe 2. Weaving..............................................................Kerry Hansen 3. Static Deflection.................................................Jim Mick 4. Custom Handles...............................................Darvin Geizler 5. Guide wt. and Rod Performance.....................Emory Harry 6. Demystifying the Spine.....................................Christian Brink 7. Optics and Magnifiers.......................................Gary Land (Ophthalmologist) 8. Feather Inlays.....................................................Andy Snedden 9. Finishing & Adhesives......................................Ralph O'Quinn 10. Out Wrapping....................................................Thomas Thornhill 11. American Tackle Products..............................Darrin Heim 12. Batson Enterprises Products.........................Bill Batson 13. Pacific Bay Int. Products..................................Tom Brown
There will also be a seminar for beginning rod builders covering beginning handle assembly, rod set up, wrapping and finishing.
We are also planning to have a fish fry featuring one of the most delicious fish that swims, the Columbia River Spring Salmon. You have never really eaten Salmon if you have not eaten one of the Columbia River Springers. Maybe we can get the luckiest fisherman alive Kerry Batson to come down and catch them.

Steve, Karry and I might be fishing the mornings too, for Emory has faith in Karry in catchin the Springers for the fish fry hehehe, maybe we can double team, not sure what he has in mind exactly, except for i know that Bill, Karry, Josh and I will all be down there fishing and attending the seminar for at least three days, we will be stayin either at a hotel or in Portland at my uncle's place! Most likely we will stay in Portland, but when i find out for sure, i will let u know and we'll get some fishing in for sure!!!
Don, lookin forward to meeting and seeing u there, keep up that awsome work!!!

I would not use the word inadequate.Emory calls it lucky! Two days a week +, times 20 years is a whole lot of lucky odds pluss 2/0 Visions hooks and 1025 Rainshadow. Thank you for the welcome look forward to swaping stories at the seminar.
