fished HARD all day,& got skunked--lots of folks chaseing fish upstream from monument, so trent{my 14yr. old son}& myself, decided to go down to kimberly, where the rivers come together...great fishing..but no catching---trent said it reminded himof the old "looney toons"where sylvester took his son fishing & didnt catch anythingso the kid was so ashamed that he wore a paper bag on his head ...lol--- the only fish i even heard of being caught, was down towards spray..nothing happening on the north fork..i think we are between pods...will keep y'all posted...

I didn't do the guide thing ...the guide was out of town ,but told me what & how to fish.If you talk to any of the locals they tell you the same thing, shrinp & skirts bounced off the bottom.will continue to try for my first steelhead--- if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Glad you got out there, though. I caught mine on an orange spin-n-glow , for what that is worth. Keep trying, most of my steelhead (all 4 of them) were caught in the first hour of fishing (twice I caught one in the first ten minutes), so keep your gear with you and go whenever you get a few moments. I'm not sure why I fish more than an hour...good luck!!

SFC, Good job on the first one! Cool pics too. Glad your wife was there to see it. Makes it easier to go if she gets to be a part of it as well. Congrats! McQueen
