Willow Creek Report new
      #185467 - 05/07/05 06:57 PM

Fished the mouth of the Willow today.
The water was high and dirty.
I caught 2 grayling of nice size and other people around me were catching good sized rainbows. I would say I saw a total of 5 rainbows caught.

I was using a spinning reel with a Silver #2 Vibrax.

Fishing died off after around 3pm.

I took some pictures of a few of the rainbows caught but dont feel like shrinking them down to put on the forum so if you want to see them, email me at fishin4rainbows@hotmail.com and I will send them to ya.

Great Report CNP, what size line were ya using?

It's not the size of the fish in the fight, but the size of the fight in the fish

Water level was pretty high, muddy. I am sure by next week it will be pretty good. Everything is washed out right now though. Grayling were biting none the less.

Also, most people started out fly fishing but ended up Spin fishing. The fish were taking the flashy spinning lures and not the flies.

Are the fish feeding on baby salmon? I have read that I should put single hooks on most of my lures. Is that common up here.

Hey SneakyJake,

Single hook artificial lures are a requirement on most streams.
Be really familiar with the regs. Each stream you fish has regulations on what you can and cant use.
