Willow Creek Report (PICS) new
      #119888 - 06/28/04 08:41 AM

Well fishing on the willow was decent. From about midnight untill 8am. The water is really low and the fish are having to stay in the main chanels of the creek. I picked up a total of seven fish on saturday (catch and release of course, except for the last one ) I was having a pretty hot day as I only saw 6 other people catch fish. ( corky rag strikes again) For best results hike up the creek about 2-4 miles and fish the shaded areas under the fallen trees, or float form the brige. Good luck next weekend, as im headed for the Kenai for the first day of bait. Here is some pictures.

Nice pictures. Never been to Willow Creek. Looks like a fun place to fish.

Opening day of bait. Thats usually a great day. Have fun and you'll probably be all alone on the Kenai. ha

Are they having the Kenai Classic again this year? That is usually on the first 2 days of bait. I fished it 2 years but never got close to the winnings. Would have landed all the strikes I got each day I would have been there though.

KENAIKING,

I did it 3 years as a guide.

The first year I did it Val won.

Second was won by Hardy.

Third was won by Chuck T.

At least I always had a fish or two but what a lousy time for some critters to come unbuttoned.

I see that you have rwfishing on your posts. You work for RW? Known him since 1981. We are good buddies. I have helped him out a few times when he was overbooked and some of his boats helped me out when I was overbooked.

Actually he is family. I have been on that river since i was 7 years old every year. did you know rw in washington as well. You probably now my mom cathie as well. Yep rw pulled one in the baot at the last hour to get second and lost one right at the last minute which probably would have won

Any good fishing here for Rainbows lately? new [Re: KENAIKING]
      #128668 - 08/12/04 12:57 PM

Has anybody been fishing for rainbows in Willow lately?
I am looking to Rainbow fish and just trying to get some ideas on where the fish are biting in the Matsu area creeks.

jason, the rainbows are just starting to heat up in the valley right now. If we get some rain they will really start on the bite. The upper Kenai is good right now so try that.

Hey KK,
Looking at these pics its hard to believe this same time last year the water on willow was that low.

If you go to that same spot in your picture, its WELL below water right now. Kinda sucks!!!
