vashon picking up new
      #193283 - 06/28/05 12:22 PM

If anyone cares at all, North of vashon to the ferry line has been picking up. My brother has had two nice fish over the last two days. Four other boats have had fish as well. Lots of shakers to go with them. Only three fish out of eight in two days has been under 20 lbs. Going to go out saturday morning for a few ours. Morning bite has been the way to go. Heading out to seiku next weekend. Hopefully we will have fish both trips.

I have a five day Sekiu trip Starting 7/11. Last year the catching was good. Good news..two of us fished three days and netted 15 chinooks..Bad news..could only keep 4, rest had too many fins. During mid day we had good luck trolling big tomics, deep (120-140 ft) and fast off that point 3-4 miles west. Morning and evening, flashers/squid/coyotes at the usual spots, caves etc. and out front mid bay. The fish/game folks claim it should be 50% retention this yr. OK, I believe that..not. Good luck.

As long as you are getting fish, it is always fun. You could be river fishing and not getting anything. Like some of these folks (not) telling the true about what they have been getting. A lot of the time some folks say a river is slow just because they don't want to share or they can't fish as well as others:), so they like to keep it to there selves.

I'm pooped, just spent 10 hours outfitting my new NR Seahawk. Installed Fishfinder, GPS, DRs on swivels, Fish On's, compass, sharkhide the hull, I'll be seeing nuts, bolts and cables in my dreams! One more day for odds and ends, and Lake WA for 10 hr break in and then actaully fish out of it!

Could you tell me more about fishing Vashon Island area? Might try it tomorrow as we have to check out daughters boat and get her dialed in for running it and fishing too. We would be launching out of Port Orchard area.
