Just checked the Rogue summer run steelhead count(counter is at Gold Ray dam just north of Medford; 30 miles from the top of the river) ... WOOF!
Fish count has jumped almost 25% from the last one! 3,819 fish into the upper river. This is WAY early for these kinds of numbers.
Bad news is the spring king run is turning out to be the pits ... by this time the count should be well in excess of 30,000 kings. How about a little over 17,000.

Sigh ... it was the two yellow labs 'lapping me' about the face ... at just before 8AM that woke me up this morning.
