I had fun yesterday harassing silvers and rainbows on the Willow. I had another monster rainbow on. He was ripping past me at warp nine for about five minutes in 2 feet of water. I got a really good look at him and then watched him take a killer run back into the Su and broke my hook in half. I thought I hooked another one later, but it turned out to be a nice silver. Sure didn't fight like that bow though.

When I showed up there were maybe ten others at the mouth with no fish. I pissed them off because I walked up and caught two silvers in about 10 minutes with some roe on my steelhead rod. At least I showed them where the fish were. I grabbed my fly rod and headed out for trout. It was the first time that I had fished the Willow for trout. I think that I was fishing the brackish water on the big Su between the creeks that flow into it. I walked upstream and then fished up what I think was the upstream branch of the Willow. Not as many trout as I expected to see, but I only needed to hook the one on the Su to make my day. I prob hooked maybe 8 or so. Lots of dead and dying fish in the Su and the Willow. I thought the water was perfect for me. I don't know what it normally looks like. My dad tied the fly, I hooked them all on egg sucking patterns with a bead attractor. Oh yeah, the skies were clear up there yesterday.

Caught around a dozen silvers, the two I kept were sweet chrome females. I think I landed about 15 rainbows. I also think the bears are moving down and I need to rethink where I am fishing. Any advice?

It was actually low and getting lower by the day around the mouth. I don't know the river well enough to say why. I didn't see a single silver in the Su, not did I see anyone else catch a fish. I don't think they are being aggressive enough in searching for fish.
