Hit Sekiu for the first time and had a super time. It was awesome to meet a bunch of great folks and fish with Dogfish in his fish slaying machine. We caught a bunch of quality fish with a couple of top notch natives in the teens. We were all treated to tremendous weather and a nice viewing of the Northern Lights on Saturday night.
I went and checked out the Droolers Sekiu Den. Awesome fellas who drink crappy beer.:D I thought the extension cord to the pickup deep freeze was a dandy touch. Word has it last year they had a hard time closing the lid...Should be even harder this year with the quality fish coming to the docks.
Speaking of the docks, I learned a few tricks from the Ultimated Egg Whore. I got schooled where I thought I was excelling. After Dogfish and I nabbed a gallon from the boys cleaning fish, we went up and vacuum packed our fish and decided to go get some more eggs. Dogfish said he'd drive to Olsons, and that I should head back down to the Coho's dock. He mentioned if we could each get a gallon we'd be golden. I grabbed some beer and headed down and went to work scaling fish and what not for eggs. After about 10 minutes I had a gallon of eggs and went to stash them in the boat. (I was told to by the UEW not have a big stash of eggs visible as it may hurt my chances at further harvest.) When I come back to the tables who do I see? The UEW whoring eggs!!! I said aren't you suppose to hit Olsons? He said he got 5 gallons in about 5 minutes!! I learned a quick lesson that day...
Here are a couple pics...

Looking forward to next year!!! Really looking forward to the potluck!!!

Thank you Marty. The first picture on the left is a coworker, his name is Kevin, that was his first ever Salmon, kid was shaking like a leaf after he landed that. Now he's hooked, when I dropped him off at home he ask, "When we goin agin?", He got his limit every day and hooked a load of natives, more than I did, course I gave him the good side of the boat and the hot rod.lol. The other guy is my long time buddy Dave, also ex-coworker, I bought my first boat from him, actually traded a chevy nova for it.And as always he caught the biggest fish, he does that to me every time we fish together. We really had a blast out there.Limited the boat everyday. All of those were caught on CDR"S & Seiku Killers.Wish you were there too John, reason I was calling ya I only had Kevin with me Friday and was hoping I could get you on the boat with me & him. The fish were hitting as soon as we got the lines in the water. We just slayed'em. The whole weekend was just awesome!

Millie, that fish looks pretty dark, better not let CastawayChris see it.
Sure looks like it was a nice day to be on the water.

Finally got time to post. I got to Sekiu early Sat am & couldn't find ANYBODY! I hung around Olson's all day & finally ran into Loner that afternoon. He told me where the Idaho fleet was headquartered, so I got to meet those fine gentlemen (I don't mean to offend you guys by calling you gentlemen, but you were pretty hospitable.) I found out that AuntyKracka & the rest of the Westside contingent were at Coho, so I went down there for potluck & got to meet a bunch more fine folks.
Caveman took me out fishing Sun am & I brought a couple of nates to the boat & crackered off several more fish which, as I explained to Caveman, were obviuosly nates anyway, cuz hatchery fish wouldn't have been smart enough to escape. I mean, I may be a cracker, but I ain't no HATCHERY cracker!
All in all, it was a fun trip, a nice day on the water, & a good time hangin out with some great folks! See ya at the next Tilla!

First I'd like to say that the weather sucked . The ocean was waaay big as evidenced by this picture of Idahewes' boat crashing the waves...
We had a great crew on Denali's boat. Here are Borntofish and the Sherrif navigating us to some fish...
The salmon fishing was a little slow, but we managed some decent fish...
But we really had a blast with the bottomfish. Here is a china rockfish...
and a Copper...
We also caught a bunch of greenling, some small (shaker) ling cod, some big cabezon, and a few black rockfish. We would fish salmon for a few hours then run out to the Neah Bay area for rockfish. The run was easy because the seas were so calm.
What a great week. I can't wait till next year.

Thanks to everyone who made this such a great week. Droolers ended up with 5 boats in the "fleet". Here are some of the pics I took...
First off thanks to Chinook for dropping by the Olson's-based Drooler's Den and providing the carking tool [piece of walnut] held by Denali, that we named "The Humpback." It got quite a workout this past week.
If any of our bunch didn't put on weight this past week than they simply weren't around when the dinner bell rang. A highlight of our week's menu included an incredible fish fry handled by the two fry-masters [Denali and Idahewes]. The line up included: perch; Mahi-Mahi; crappie; bass; Lake Superior Whitefish; Sekiu salmon and bottomfish.
This was our best year thus far in terms of getting in on some really terrific bottomfish action. Here are a couple of the beasties that I contributed to the box.
As mentioned by Mojo the weather was outrageously calm and sunny....here's Idahewes and his crew putting the hurt on some fish.
This was the first year for B-Run and his crew [Kris-Tarponslayer, and No-Luck Dan]....no doubt in my mind that they're hooked and will return next year.
In closing, thanks also to Josh, Loner, and Elwood for dropping by the Den the first evening...sorry we didn't get to see more of them and others during the week. Looking forward to next year.

Dean, Like you probably can, Mike and Chris can fish circles around me pretty much anywhere anytime. Something about age and guile beating youth and vigor. How much do you figure that big hooke nosed brute weighed? Seems pretty big for a silver. Chris is about 5'1" and 125#
