I thought it was ceder lacquer fungus but I got the illustrations mixed up. Now I dont know what it is. Chicken of the woods?

Thats a good book I just recieved it in the mail.I also bought all that the rain promises and more and the audubons feild guide to mushrooms.
Bondarzewia montana has cap and stalk so I dont think this is it.
This is growing out of the end a cut down fir tree
