this is the 4x5 before I started.
After he was worked over,As you can see I leave the bottom jaw on as well something new I like very well. I built the plaque it is on as well, out of a hard wood. I have an ingraved name tag and score of your trophy on it too.
This is the eye gland, and sinus webbing. I take great care in keeping it in. Most places will just boil it out, or scrape it out and leave it at that. We use a special technique and it works very well as you can see.
This is the #2 neck vertebrae with the arrow head still in it I cleaned it up as well and it hang on the bottom of the mount so he can remove it and share the story with his friends, the Elk was shot at 15yards and dropped in its tracks Not one step was taken the arrow was strait in the spine. Jim, that is really quality work and a great mount. If I were still hunting, and lucky enough to score a nice bull or buck [deer], this is the way I'd want it done.
