my dog's ball glows...
      #220286 - 12/01/05 09:41 PM

a post in the fishing forum reminded me to share this...I always run my black lab after work and got sick of losing balls in the dark...petco sells a soft glo in the dark ball that fits the chukit (throwing slinger thing) like a glove. my umpteen million cp spot gets a good glow going and it actually throws quite a ways farther than a tennis ball (its smooth and lighter)...and doesn't freeze into a toothbreaker in the back of my truck. she can find it in the pitch black even if its buried in the bushes. oh and i can see where she is when she picks it up and runs...looks like that bouncing ball in the old cartoons to help kids sing along.

NO MORE LOST BALLS!!!! sorry for yelling...
here's alink if you don't live near a big pet store (the small one fits the thrower)

If you had two glowing balls you could say you're dog's balls glow.

Quill....good to know that there's at least another twisted mind in the group. First thought that came to mind was my situation after undergoing radiation treatment for testicular cancer.

BTF I hope you pulled through that OK, I shudder at the thought of having to go through that.

I've got one for my dog too, it's pretty neat. She doesn't think it's as cool as I do. She only wants it if I act like I'm trying to get it.

This can't be healthy. All this fishing is really messing with my head.

Cupo...that sounds just like a woman.

Lucy...the pooch in question is a fanatic retriever (although not the sharpest tool in the shed)...not too often SHE loses a ball, usually it's me that overthrows or something. I can heave a tennis ball over a bluff and into the brush...half an hour later, here she comes, ready for another round. I was framing a small shop down at the coast last summer and she would do that for like 6 or 8 hours...lose like maybe 1 in 15 thrown, then find it the next day.

BTF...sorry to hear about the bag bomb...that sheet aint right. My sister in law and my neighbor's wife (his first wife died during her third round of cancer a couple years back...deja vu) are both doing the chemo and rad thing for BC right now. Seems sometimes like more people than not are having to deal with that these days...we gotta find whats doing it!

Now if my brother could just find his balls...wifes got em somewhere...glow or no glow, they're gone for good

Quillback and archy99, thanks. Haven't had recurrance since last bout [2nd] with cancer in 1987. Didn't mean to change the subject, but what came to mind at mention of glow balls was one day, while still undergoing radiation treatment, I went to work with a couple activated glow sticks tucked inside my shirt at the waist. Took some of the folks longer than others to notice and comment, but it was good for laughs and lighten the moment.

ya gotta have humor...makes the best of the worst. ten years back a bunch of the guys at work had been on a week long bitch streak about their hairlines...so i came to work the next day with a full friar tuck lookalike...skin in the middle and a horshoe of hair about two inches long (barber started it, wife finished it with the razor). wore it for a couple of days and got more laughs and a few nasty looks (one from the boss who's hair was an exact match), but the punk rocker barber kid still breaks up whenever i come in...starts tellin his customers about that day. humor is the way to go man, no matter the size of the issue...keep it up.
